Another Party

 We went to another party this weekend, but it wasn't for us! My friend, Sally, from work has a precious little girl that turned one this week. Gabi and Kathryn are only a month apart, so we've enjoyed having a few playdates where the girls take turns chewing on each others' toys.

Audrey thought it was the best party ever - cake pops and a park! A perfect combo!

Dora Party!

 Our baby girls are going to be so confused next year when they only celebrate their birthdays one time a year! I was feeling a little mommy guilt about moving right before their birthdays in August, so we had a second birthday party with my family this weekend in SC. Audrey specifically requested a Dora party, so we celebrated with Dora and Boots. I think Audrey is starting to think that every weekend is an occasion for cake..not a bad idea, actually. :)

Aunt Sharon teaching Audrey how Dora works. This was a great gift. She goes in the bathtub and you can wash her hair. Audrey has developed a recent phobia of having her hair washed, so it helps to have Dora as an example.

B'day Bash

 We spent some quality time in AL this past weekend and were able to visit with David's parents, Aunt Trish, Jennifer, Michael and Ana. The last time we saw baby Ana, she and Kathryn were just able to lay down and stare at each other. It was fun to see them together this time. They loved to reach out to each other. Kathryn had a little problem wanting to bonk Ana on the head - guess she wanted to make sure she was real?
We also had a little pre-birthday celebration since we will be in Memphis for the girls' actual birthday in August. As always, Grandmother made yummy cupcakes and we all had a great time visiting together.

This sweet girl turned ten months old while David and I were in Memphis looking for housing, so I need to catch up! She started "scrawling = scooting + crawling" while we were gone last week (end of June), and now she is out of control! Audrey was generally pretty happy to sit and stay in one spot, but Kathryn has way too much to investigate. Most of the time, she has a toy in each hand and is moving on to the next.
She still just one tooth on the bottom, but more seem to be coming through. Once she has her stuffed bunny and her crib, she is content to suck her thumb and settle down to sleep. She sleeps about 12 hours each night and takes a morning and afternoon nap. Most of time when I go to check on her, she is already awake and contentedly playing in her crib.
She loves to be tickled under her neck and get kisses on her tummy. When music starts playing, her arms and body start dancing and she still loves to watch Audrey and all of her antics. She is usually happy to be on her own and entertain herself which makes her a pretty easy baby.
Her vocabulary includes: dada, ba ba, bye bye and hey. (David says she has also said "eschatology", but I highly doubt it!) She said 'mama' once but not yet consistently. We love our sweet baby girl!

Happy Fourth!

 We spent the Fourth with Grandmother and Granddaddy this year. They came to help us with a few repairs on the house for our future buyers, and we managed to squeeze in some barbeque on the side. Luckily, Audrey and Kathryn both liked the barbeque, so we know we can really move to Memphis now.

Most picture sessions end with Audrey getting the grip on Kathryn. She's supposed to hold her around the middle, but magically, it always starts going towards the neck. Oh well! Happy Independence Day!

 Audrey has rediscovered the Sesame Street doctor's kit that my parents gave her for her birthday last year. Kathryn is the lucky patient! I'm not sure how much longer she will be willing to sit still for this treatment. Audrey is shocked when she starts trying to crawl away! David is thrilled that Audrey might become "the type of doctor that actually makes good money."
