Newest Member of the Family

Meet the newest member of our family! We took the plunge and purchased a mini-van, since we are outgrowing our Taurus. Thankfully, a co-worker had a need for a sedan, so we were able to easily sell it to her family. We have been researching vans for the past several months, and we settled on the Honda Odyssey.

It's so funny how large it looks in the pictures and when you stand outside of it, because when you are inside it drives and feels like our Highlander. We love all the space in it and there are thousands of cupholders! We could have all of our parties in the car!

Hopefully, it will last through all of our carpooling days and be as blissful as the Odyssey print ads make it seem.

I have to figure out how to operate these buttons. I might have to break down and read the manual.
Look at all that space! The middle section between the two captain's chairs folds down into a small table, or you can remove it to easily climb through.

Is Spring Here?

We are loving these warmer days! Audrey has enjoyed a trip to the park every day for the past five days. She has always enjoyed the swings, but lately, she's taken an interest in the slide also. She thinks she is much bigger than she really is and tries to mount the huge stairs like she is a big kid. It's pretty entertaining to watch her.
David told her to say, "Go!" whenever she is ready to slide down.
We were saying "yeah!" when she was on the zebra and she took her hands off to clap for herself. She forgot she couldn't balance herself, hence, my hand on the side.

Bye Bye Birdie

What is David doing? Last Tuesday morning, David left for a meeting and Audrey and I were reading in the den. I heard something rustling around in the chimney and decided to "ignore" it until he got home. We had a little squirrel friend in there a few years ago that came out quite disturbed, so we prepared ourselves before opening it up. We put Audrey down for her nap, put the dog in the garage, rolled up the rug, and barricaded the space past the back door into the den with boxes. David put on his work gloves, and we both grabbed towels to shoo the animal out.

To our surprise, a small black bird flew out. I know it was probably less traumatic than a squirrel (for us, not the bird), but I really despise birds. It kept flying over my head and went straight for the kitchen skylight. It finally flew out the front door after shooing it with the broom. An interesting adventure for a Tuesday afternoon!

Valentine Painting

Audrey worked on a little Valentine's Day project today, and we painted a little after she was through. She is turning into a little Picasso! She loved it. That's sort of surprising to me, given that she hates for her fingers to get dirty while eating meals, but apparently, paint is a different matter.

Sunday Church

It has been an interesting week. Audrey and I went to SC last weekend to visit Mimi and Pops, and she started running a fever Saturday afternoon. She was up most of the night Saturday and Sunday with congestion and coughing, so I took her into the doctor on Monday. It turns out she had an ear infection and pinkeye! Yuck. She's also cutting some molars, so the poor girl has been on lots of drugs. Thankfully, she has started to feel better and slept through the night last night!

Here she is after church today. One of her latest activities is playing a little piano for us. She loves playing a few notes and then announcing, "All done!" She walks out of the room and then comes back for an encore performance. She's pretty entertaining.

She also graduated today to the Creepers classroom in the nursery. She had a little drama when I first left, but they said she settled right down and they even gave her some Goldfish - her favorite snack!
