Palm Sunday 2014
Today was an exciting day for the kiddos. The girls loved carrying the palm branches down the center aisle of the church, as we prepare for Easter next weekend. Andrew was able to handle most of the service and slept, swaddled with his pacifier, during most of the service, even through the trumpet solo!
On the way home, an elderly gentlemen stopped the girls in the parking lot to speak to them. Audrey curtsied to him when he asked how she was, and he loved it! He then stopped to speak to Andrew for a bit in the stroller. When he started to leave, he looked at me and David and said, "I have seen something beautiful today. Thank you." There were tears in his eyes. It was such a special reminder of the best things in life -- sweet family and special moments with those in our community. I hoped that conversation encouraged him today. I know it encouraged us! It's not always easy to pull all five of us together for church, especially after the baby has been up half the night, but moments like those remind us why it's worth it to raise our kids in our faith and in the church community. Happy Easter season to all of you!
