Strawberry fields

We went to the strawberry fields today to do some picking with the Wonder School girls. It was pretty soggy due to the all of the rain lately, but the girls did pretty well in the boots and layers.
We started out with some stories about strawberries.
Silvia and baby Charlie
Marilla and Kathryn enjoyed some time with sand - although the crunching sound in Kathryn's teeth reminded me why I don't often let her play with it!!
sweet friends: Abigail, Lucy, Rosie, Audrey, Lily, Zoe
 Marilla and Kyle
Oh my word, Kathryn was a hot mess in the strawberries. She dove for all of them and put half of them in her mouth, stem and all. She devoured them! I assumed that Audrey would be the one to keep up with, but she was on her own most of the time since I was guarding the strawberries from Kathryn. Audrey was only on a mission to find the "perfect strawberries." After about thirty minutes, she only had about seven and Kathryn had a bucket full. Truly showed the differences in their personalities!

that's Audrey WAY down there combing the fields for the perfect ones
"cleaning hands" the old fashioned way
