Baking with Bananas

Audrey continues her love of Ina. Barefoot Contessa and Elmo are really the only two things she will watch on television. On Tuesday, we didn't have much to do outside the house, so I was trying to think of some indoor activities. She wanted to watch Ina during snack time, so then I asked if she would like to do some cooking herself. Of course, she said, "yes!" and we decided to make some banana muffins - combining her two loves of bananas and muffin liners.

She was slightly helpful in putting out the liners.

Peeling the bananas
tasting her finished product - yummy!

Taking Care of Baby

Over the past few weeks, as we have been talking more about the coming baby, Audrey has taken an interest in baby dolls. She found this doll that our neighbor, Jen, gave to her and has been loving it to pieces. She "reads" to her, shows her how to change a diaper, rocks her and takes her on our evening walks to describe the scenery. We hope this is a good sign for our upcoming addition. By the way, I don't think I have posted it here - we found it we are having another GIRL! We are very excited since we have enough pink to go around a second time!

I realize the above picture is not the most attractive, but it reminds me of my expression in so many of my childhood photos. I think she's saying, "Can you stop taking pictures of me?"

Mother's Day 2011

We started out our Mother's Day weekend driving to AL to visit David's family. Audrey enjoyed some quality Elmo time during our trip - such a lifesaver!
We loved seeing Aunt Trish and Uncle Mike. Audrey had to show off her letter recognition skills!
She was very helpful in unwrapping Grandmother's gift.
She also insists on helping us put on our socks and shoes. She says, "Audrey help Daddy" or "Audrey help Mommy" when it's time to get ready.
Showing off her golfing skills before we headed home
and a little Frisbee playing with Aunt Jen
Posing after church on Sunday - she's holding the Mother's Day card she made at "school" but I couldn't get her to display it.

It was a great weekend. We are so thankful for our moms, grandmothers, and all the other important women in our lives!

Weekend with Audrey

We had a fun, calm weekend at home together. Audrey was very "helpful" to Daddy with the cars. She loved the wet sponge and the bucket.
Posing for the camera
Handing Daddy the sponge
We spent time on Sunday at St. Mountain park's playground. She loved the tunnel.
She started driving and when asked where she was going, she said, "mimi and pops".

Good times!

Easter 2011

Here are a few shots from Easter Sunday. We attended an early morning service outside, so Audrey joined us along with Mimi and Pops. She loved it! She cheered every time the music played and said, "more, more" and "yeah!!"
Greeting everyone as we entered.
Grooving to the music
Loving on Mimi
Her first taste of a doughnut - I grabbed one on the way in to keep her quiet during the sermon. She loved it! Towards the end of the sermon, she got restless, so David took her to the end of the aisles. There was a couple with two dogs sitting on the lawn listening, so she got to play with them and feed them the rest of her snack. A happy Easter for all of God's creatures!
She loved these two cross balloons, and they gave them to her after the service.
Quick family shot once we got home.
We did a mini egg hunt in the afternoon. David and I did all of the hunting. She would bypass all of the eggs and pick up the sticks, the branches, etc. Maybe next year?
It was a great weekend with family and friends.

Beach Bum, Round 2

Well, I am still having some issues with Blogger, but I managed to get a few more pics from our beach trip loaded. Here's the Boo making friends with anyone who passed by.
She's been into "cleaning" lately. Here, she is cleaning the room with a Kleenex - very helpful!
At first, she hated the sand but she quickly adjusted.
She loved for us to grab her up out of the water, just in time. Here she is with Grandmother.
Granddaddy to the rescue
She also loved to chase the birds. She was convinced she would make friends with them.

For the record

I keep trying to upload pics from the past few weeks but they aren't uploading to Blogger. I'll keep trying - they are on Facebook, though!
